Collective memories of London

Katherine Morling

Award winning ceramicist Katharine Morling intrigued young patients with clay modelling workshops. Patients recreated memories, belongings and everyday objects through sketches and clay models. Personal objects were reinvented through stories into ceramic pieces with a touch of the surreal.

Katharine Morling has been commissioned to create a dynamic animated scene, based on patients belongings and made entirely from porcelain. The commission forms part of the hospital’s permanent art collection and is installed on the Ground floor of the Royal London Hospital, in the children’s entrance.
